I am drawn to children’s literature by the challenge of saying more with less, and showing not telling. I want children to be reminded of kindness, perseverance, curiosity and appropriate humor.

Collage is my illustration medium. I find great joy in recreating an image in my mind with paper. Paper is so diverse! It spans the spectrum of vibrancy and texture, it can be compliant or rebellious, it reveals unexpected nuance and at other times does just what it’s supposed to.
